"The 5th Anniversary Gala
The 24th March saw the Naked Heart Foundation celebrating five years of activities in Moscow's iconic chocolate Factory, Red October. The evening was built around an auction of fabulous modern art pieces donated by Russian and international artists, including Sir Peter Blake, the Chapman Brothers, Keith Tyson, Gosha Ostretsov, Vitaly Komar, David Datuna, Joana Vasconcelos. The highlightof the evening was an incredible one-off performance by the band ‘Naked Hearts’, composed of Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Johnny Marr (The Smiths), their sons Jesse Wood and Nile Marr, as well as Andy Newmark (Sly and the Family Stone) and Andy Wallace.
This event enabled us to thank our ongoing supporters and present the work we have achieved in the past five years. We are also proud to have launched a new direction in foundation's work, based on the idea that ‘Every Child Deserves To Have A Family’. The grounding idea of this new program is to provide support to families of children with special needs, thus helping children to stay in their families and not be taken into orphanages. We will support the development of a network of centres providing psychological, therapeutic, legal and social support for children with special needs and their families, as well as for families intending to foster or adopt.
We are proud to say that this event raised a grand total of over $1.4 million - an extremely healthy sum for the funding of our 2011 Play Parks, and our new program ‘Every Chid Deserves To Have A Family’."
