Designed by Peter Marino, Louis Vuitton’s first Island Maison will sit directly on water,
with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay.

Private lounge and outdoor loggia,
as well as an art gallery tunnel of contemporary works leading directly to the Marina Bay Sands Mall.

1st Maison in Southeast Asia.
The Louis Vuitton Island will be the 12th Maison in the world,

Open: 18th September 2011 at Singapore.

ルイヴィトンアイランドは世界で12番目のメゾン、東南アジアでは初のメゾンになります。

Even though Justin Bieber may be from Canada, his looks are of THE AMERICAN BOY. Should I play 'American Boy' by Kanye West and Estelle? *LoL*

Well Bieber was spotted leaving LAX airport, and he was spotted wearing strong American brands: Adidas (shirt and shorts), Vans (shoes), and Louis Vuitton 'Michael' Damier bag for approximately $1,500 (Americans like 'em).

Is Jolie's Ad Insensitive?

I came across the new Louis Vuitton ad featuring Angelina Jolie on Cocoperez.com. I Googled for the picture to add on the blog and I came across an article in the Guardian with an interesting title: What's Angelina Jolie doing in a swamp with a 7,000 pound bag?

At first glance, I would agree that the photo looks a little odd. The ad was shot in Cambodia. Normally Louis Vuitton sends photographers to beautiful places to shoot models (or celebrities) frolicking on an island or relaxing by the pool. But this time around it's Angelina Jolie looking quite fresh-faced in a wooden boat in a Cambodian swamp.

The article states, "the response has not been one of unguarded rejoicing. Some have argued that if you travel upriver in a very poor country with mosquitos and ferocious river beasts threatening your life and sanity, you might not want to take a £7,000 bag with you. Perhaps using poor countries as the backdrop to show off your luxury goods isn't in the best possible taste?"

My opinion? I understand the critics. It is a little questionable that the luxury brand choose to shoot their ads in a developing country. But I think that it look fabulous. I think that the luxury brand has finally done something refreshing. Jolie is not centered in the picture which allows us to examine the beautiful scenery behind the actress. I feel like it is a very artistic photo that isn't cliche. And might I add "ferocious river beasts" ... really...really? Who is this writer? Obviously he's never been to a "poor country" before.

Nonetheless, The article does mention that Jolie gave a reported 10 million dollars to charity from the Louis Vuitton pay cheque.

LV accessories, for a change

Before I forget, can I mention that the LV boxes are the cutest ever - they open like a drawer!

I didn't get a belt. It's a long strap for my pochette. It seems straightforward but it wasn't.

I've had this pochette for years (it was one of my first designer bags), as you can see from the colour of the leather (far right, below) - it's a caramel brown. So when I went into the LV boutique a few weeks ago to get a replacement for my old strap (short) that was falling apart, I asked if there were any dark ones and they said no (which isn't true, as I found out later)... I reluctantly bought the really, really light-coloured strap (short) that you see in the picture, which looks silly! Then when I was in LV again, buying the agenda (details below), I asked again ("do you happen to have...") and the guy brought me a dark brown strap (I wanted a long one)! It's a bit wider but I think it looks better than the light brown.

I actually went in to buy an agenda. Yes, I know it's already May and it's not exactly the usual time of the year to buy calendars but I'd suddenly had an urge to write stuff on paper. Actually, it's because I've had some problems with my iPhone lately - whilst synchronising (with two computers, that's the problem), I've lost data or had them replaced with wrong data etc etc...

Sorry LV, but Louis Vuitton wasn't my first choice. Of course I went and asked at Chanel but they told me that all the good stuff comes in December. So I'll probably get a Chanel diary at the end of the year but for now... I got this one from LV.

Just Saying!

Ok. Do not judge me, but I read Perez Hilton religiously (and Cocoperez). I like that the posts are so short and sweet, it gets right to the point. After a long day of reading articles about development issues, it is always nice to relax with some celebrity gossip (and fashion). Although I love the site, I personally have never liked Perez Hilton. I have also heard that he is quite the diva when you met him (no surprise there!) NONETHELESS... I am glad that he stopped bullying celebrities on his blog (remember Potato Head?) For an (formerly) overweight man, he was very judgmental. And that is what I dislike about Perez: he is a complete hypocrite. If you read his blog, you probably notice that he has consistently scorned celebrities that smoke. He recently commented on the presence of a cigarette in the hand of Kate Moss as she walked the Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris. He states: Do not have a drag, just be a queen.

HYPOCRITE!

Perez Hilton was featured in Rihanna's S&M music video. He was on all fours (pretending to be a dog) while Rihanna held his leash and .....wait for it...... SMOKED A CIGARETTE. If he really was against cigarettes, then why would he have agreed to participate in a music video that glorifies smoking a cigarette. In the end, this just shows that money (and fame) are more important than his values. Tsk tsk.
