During the charity event, hosted by Natalia Vodianova and Valentino Garavani, 40 outfits realized by top designers will go up for auction
It will be a white fairy tale and, according to some, also the chicest event of 2011, at least in France.
White Fairy Tale: this is the theme of the next Love Ball, the event that Russian top model Natalia Vodianova hosts every year to raise funds in support of her charity, the Naked Heart Foundation.
For the 2011 edition Vodianova Natalia reached out to 40 of her designer friends - including Balmain, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Prada, Riccardo Tisci, Roberto Cavalli and many others - to create as many one off-pieces that will be put up for auction during the evening held at Christie's.
The gala night is set to take place in Paris during haute couture week. The setting for the event will be the Chateau de Wideville, the private mansion of Valentino Garavani, who also hosts the event alongside with Giancarlo Giammetti.
In the Chateau the 450 guests will also have the chance to watch the exclusive performance of a famous rock band, whose identity is still top secret. The Russian top has asked Paolo Roversi to shoot pictures of the Love Ball: the shots will be included in a limited edition book called Fairy Tale.
The Naked Heart Foundation has created 54 playgrounds in 38 Russian cities, some of them within orphanages, rehabilitation centers and children’s hospitals.
'Leisure is a necessity - said Vodianova – not a luxury. Playing is the first instrument through which very young children can interact with the world around them. Quoting the words of a prominent psychiatrist, playing enables us to elaborate an alternative to violence and despair'.
