On Sunday March 20th the National Art Gallery will be hosting "Walk the Truth," a charitable gala fundraiser for AC-AF which will close Ottawa Fashion Week. This charity fashion show, in partnership with Ottawa Fashion Week, is the result of the collaboration between two different sectors coming together for a common goal. The gala centers around on of AC-AF's arts campaigns involvng youth titled "Say What You Mean, Mean What you Say.... About HIV and AIDS." Who are AC-AF? They are a unique organization that aims to provide sustainable grassroots solutions to the orphan crisis. It is the first known organization in the world that provide micro-credit loans directly to youth under the age of 18, as part of its holistic support programming.
As a Masters student in International Development and a budding fashionista, I feel as if this event is one that can not be missed! Not only will I be able to watch a fabulous fashion show but I will be able to meet and speak to members of parliament, dignitaries and NGOs.
The Charity Gala is on Sunday March 20th and starts at 9PM. Tickets are available at the Ottawa Fashion Week website. All proceeds from the Gala will go to towards AC-AF and its programming, helping to ensure that the participants receive the utmost quality of support.
