Operation Beautiful

A normal day (for a Master student): sitting hours on end in the library reading articles while trying to internalize the main points and formulating intelligent ways to regurgitate this new found information in class... In reality, the library can be a pretty harrowing place. Rows and rows of students buried underneath stacks of books - stressing about their next paper or midterm. 

Most of the semester I live in the library. After hours of sitting at the same computer desk and re-reading the same line (for the 5th time), I feel tired, frustrated and a little depressed.  

Last Tuesday was a day like any other day. I was sitting at the computers, typing furiously and reading what seems like an endless article. After finishing up my 3rd coffee (it's so addictive!) I slowly made my way to the bathroom. 

Inside the bathroom was a post-it that was stuck to the bathroom mirror...

It was like a light was suddenly turned on. I was confident and left the bathroom with a huge smile on my face. How did this small piece of paper do all that in a couple of seconds? Wow, what a powerful post-it.

Someone informed me that these post-it notes are part of Operation Beautiful. The mission of Operation Beautiful is to post anonymous notes in public places for other women to find. The point is that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL (just the way we are!)

I am so inspired by this website and this whole campaign. It it time that women stop focusing on the negative and instead focus on everything that they love.
