On a recent trip to New York I saw a fabric exhibit at the Lee Young Hee Museum of Korean Culture. The small Museum which I've written about twice is a favorite of mine. This visit the Museum was showing lengths of fabric dyed in beautiful colors. Dried safflowers were used in the dyeing process.
The colorful brochure was mostly in Korean but that didn't deter me from enjoying the exhibit.
The Museum is long and narrow so the colorful fabrics were hung in front of the display cases of traditional Korean costumes.
Another shot showing the colorful fabrics hung on each side of the Museum.
Peering through the fabrics one can still see the traditional costumes.
A Dop'o - scholar's overcoat. A new addition since my last visit.
A closer look at the darker fabrics.
Dried safflower was displayed on a table. The above photo is from an online catalog for papermaking supplies.
A traditional costume seen between two lengths of fabric.
