When all else fails, it’s time to call in the support. Spanx is the branchild of Sara Blakely who had a genius idea ten years ago. With only 5,000 dollars this amazing female entrepreneur persuaded a factory in North Carolina to make the prototype, wrote her own patent and came up with a clever name. Blakely even used her own butt in the before and after pictures used in all the Spanx marketing in the first three years.
An idea that started out in a bathroom has now become a multi-million (and international) company. Spanx hosiery have been a miracle worker for women – they take pounds off the body and create fantastic curves (no need to suck it in ladies, Spanx does that for you!)
Given the success of Spanx, it’s not surprise that Blakely decided to take the company to another level: SWIMWEAR. I am floored by how beautiful these pieces look. I have always been a fan of the bikini (tanning!) but some of these one-pieces are just breath taking. As I grow older, I always feel that these one-pieces are just a touch classier (thoughts?!) Unfortunately, I do not think that there are any retailers in Ottawa that sell these shaptastic swimsuits – BUT you can purchase them online at http://www.spanx.com. And remember, sometimes you got to dig a little deeper in your wallet if you want to find something that will last. Just sayin’!
