A Movie in Tokyo

A movie is a must while in Tokyo. I've learned that unlike the US movieplex, Tokyo movie theaters are often tucked away down an alley or up several stories with little to indicate their presence. So I asked my daughter write down the name of the theater in Japanese. This time I easily found the theater as it was located in a building very close to the train station and the helpful train employee just pointed.


CAST ME IF YOU CAN is low key movie about trying to become famous and what comes with fame. Enjoyable, funny and touching. Directed by Atsushi Ogata with Hiromi Nagsaku and Toru Masuoka in the lead roles. English subtitles.


The movie theater was on the fourth floor and afterwards I walked around and took photos from the windows and a pedestrian bridge into OIOI (say marooee) a department store. Lots of glass and tall buildings. Above is a glass roof that juts out from the Yurakucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line.

View from the other side of the pedestrian bridge. I noticed that Shinkansen (aka bullet) trains went by every few minutes. Later I read that the Yurakucho Station is a railway station for the trains in Central Tokyo.


If one looks at the train cars in the right of the photo and then across to the left side of the photo you can see the reflection of the train cars. And, duh, it took me a few seconds to realize the left side was a reflection.
