Churches abound in Montreal. In the Centre-Ville (downtown) area we've stay in for many years there are two churches within a block of our hotel. Though both Roman Catholic Churches they are very different in style and use.
Eglise du Gesu built in 1865 is the oldest Baroque church in Montreal. It's not only a church but its adjacent gesu is a creative center for the arts with performances and art exhibits.

St Patrick's Basilica was built in 1847 to serve the Irish immigrants of English speaking Montreal. The steeple of this Gothic Revival Style church was being repaired when I took this double exposure black and white Holga photo.
