Side Street Eating-Away From the Crowds-Tokyo

Late one Saturday afternoon my daughter and I took the JR Yamanote line to the Harajuki Station. We walked along Omotesando and after a stop at Kiddyland where I added an item to my Totoro collection we turned on to side streets which were much less crowded.

Look down the sidewalk at the Saturday afternoon crowd on Omotesando.

We waited in line for about fifteen minutes at this popular side street goyza restaurant.

So good!

The menu was goyza with pork- pork with leeks, pork with garlic or pork with leeks and garlic. Steamed or fried. Such choices. We ordered pork with leeks and garlic-steamed and fried. Also rice, bean sprout salad with sesame and broth with scallions and ginger. And of course beer. I can't remember the last time I had beer at home but in Japan it's a requirement with most meals.
