HOLGA - BULB MODE EXPERIMENTS - JAPAN

For several days during last year's trip trip to Japan the weather was overcast, cloudy and rainy....not good days for taking pictures with my Holga. As I've mentioned Holga photos need lots of light. What to do when there isn't a lot of light....maybe take digital photos.... Or if your Holga is a newer one switch the thingy on the bottom of the camera from N (normal) to B (bulb) mode. On B mode you can hold the shutter open for as long as you want. This allows time for more light. However photos shot on bulb mode require a tripod and shutter release cable. Shutter release cables often freeze and I mostly forget to take my tripods. So I hold the shutter open and count one potato, two potato, etc up to five or seven.



I looked forward to taking Holga photos at this bamboo grove in Kamakura, Japan. However what I knew about how bamboo grows was zip. So close together, so little light, so Holga unfriendly......I switched my Holga on to bulb mode and counted.......and stopped at five or six..
