Today, I'll introduce big trend "distressed".

Distressed t-shirts, holey tights, and ripped denim become one of big trend now.

As you see great looks from Balmain.

I know Balmain is high look brand.

Chautauqua

This past weekend we visited Chautauqua Institution for a family wedding. The Institution is located on Lake Chautauqua in Western New York State about 75 miles west and south of Buffalo, New York. Founded in 1874 Chautauqua Institution is now a gated summer community and educational/cultural center.


A well maintained late Victorian cottage with some gingerbread trim is typical of the summer homes in Chautauqua.

A cottage still covered in its "winter coat". Many of the summer places are covered/draped/encased in these "tents" to protect their gingerbread architectural details from the very cold and snowy winters. The owners of this place thought to tape where the front door is and add the house number. The season here begins in late June so several cottages were still covered this past weekend.

The Anthenaeum Hotel where we stayed this past weekend. This 160 room hotel was built in 1881 and the front porch is 200 feet long and the columns are 30 feet high. (Wikepedia photo) It was fun to sit in the rocking chairs and look at the lake.

Zoals eerder vermeld is de bloemetjesprint erg hip deze zomer.

Laten we een kijkje nemen waar ze verkrijgbaar zijn..... 

We beginnen bij mijn favoriet Topshop. Topshop is deze zomer de koploper als het gaat om bloemetjes. Ze hebben jumpsuits, jurken, blousjes en zelfs schoenen met de print en gelukkig voor ons is het ook online te bestellen. 

Bij Zara laten ze heel goed zien hoe je bloemen kan combineren met jeans, rokjes en de combat look. 

Mango heeft ook leuke bloemetjes in de collectie, ik ben vooral fan van het rokje met kant. 

Tenslotte heeft Vero moda ook een paar basics opgeleukt met bloemetjes.

So who watched the Eurovision Song Contest? A bit of history for you: this annual singing competition started back in 1956 and has launched several big careers - ABBA won in 1974 (with 'Waterloo') and Céline Dion in 1988.

This year, 39 countries participated. They use a rather loose definition of 'Europe' - included are Russia and Azerbaijan, for example - but who cares about the politics?!

I never used to watch this - tacky! embarrassing! - and never admitted to it if I did, but I thought Norway did a great job of hosting this year's contest. And the participants were um... inspiring!

So that's where Lara Croft from Tomb Raider has been hanging out! In Armenia and she now sings, too.

There were also serious performers. I quite like it when they sing in their own language but most of them choose English. And this bit is embarrassing: my husband voted! As in, he actually called, and not just once but three times! (for Albania)

I don't know how they organised these but they showed huge crowds in European cities doing choreographed dances together. (Think Austin Powers.) We just thought: all this fun, excitement and joy across Europe, it's so much better than killing each other in pointless wars!

The winner was Germany: sweet 19-year old Lena with the song 'Satellite'. She was a nobody before Eurovision! And now she's a star!

SATC gaat door, we zijn nu in Londen.

Sarah Jessica Parker bracht die avond een ode aan Alexander Mcqueen in een zwarte strapless jurk en zwarte band met diamanten om haar arm van hem gecombineerd met een haarstuk van Philip Treacy .Ze zei over hem: There was no choice, I wanted to wear Alexander Mcqueen... again. He made a dress for me two years ago and I feel it is an emotional tribute to him. I miss him tonight, but I'm thrilled to be wearing this dress. I feel like someone is looking down on me."

Kristin Davis schitterde in een vintage halterjurk van Norman Norell met hakken van Jimmy Choo en een clutch van Judith Leiber. 

En als laatst Cyntia Nixon, zij laat mijn hart niet sneller kloppen helaas in een groene Narciso Rodriguez jurk met hakken van Christian Louboutin.
